Its soils support gorse, heather, pine and birch and it has three miles of mainly shingle beaches with some low sandy cliffs. There are over 20 Grade II listed buildings in the parish. The landscape is gently undulating and is drained by the Hundred River with marshes and fens along its short course.
Aldringham cum Thorpe Parish Council has started work on a Neighbourhood Plan and a Steering Group has been established to move things forward. The Parish Council formally signed the agreement to continue and start the formal process of producing a Neighbourhood Plan. On 23 August a drop-in session was held, the start of the process, and gave an early opportunity for you to understand what a Neighbourhood Plan is all about, share in developing our vision for the future and raise other appropriate issues to be addressed by the Plan.
